ENVISIO Project: Empowering Deaf Youth to Lead the Green Entrepreneurship Revolution

[NICOSIA, CYPRUS] – As Europe pivots toward a sustainable future, the ENVISIO Project is ensuring that no one is left behind. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, ENVISIO is a pioneering initiative dedicated to providing high-quality, inclusive education and training in green entrepreneurship specifically tailored for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing (DHH) youth.  

The project addresses a critical gap in the entrepreneurial landscape: the intersection of environmental sustainability and accessibility. By developing a dedicated Digital Training Hub, ENVISIO provides young DHH individuals with the tools, confidence, and specialised skills needed to launch eco-friendly business ventures.  

The Core Mission of ENVISIO

The project aims to cultivate a generation of environmentally conscious entrepreneurs across Italy, Turkey, Cyprus, Latvia, and Malta. Its primary objectives include:

• Increasing the employability and self-confidence of Deaf youth.  

• Integrating sign-language accessibility into professional business training.  

• Aligning youth-led business ideas with the goals of the European Green Deal.

Looking Ahead

The project is currently preparing for its first baseline, where it will collect the needs of the project focus groups in all partner countries. This phase will be crucial to gather feedback and ensure that the educational resources - including the enhanced augmented reality booklets and sign language-supported modules - effectively meet the needs of the target audience.

About Christiana Tartiou

Christiana Tartiou holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Cyprus and an MBA from the European University of Cyprus.

She started her career in the Financial Administration of the Human Resources Development Authority. Later, she worked as the Director of a Training Academy in a multinational company. Today, she is a business consultant and quality control expert at CKT Business Consulting. Since 2019, she has been a certified trainer. Since 2023, she has been actively involved in Training and Development (L&D) consulting in national and European programmes. She performs duties as a Quality Auditor in Quality Management Systems for Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Transportations.

In addition, she is a Specialist Scientist at the School of Business Administration at the European University of Cyprus.
